This is a blog telling you guys about my experience with both paxil and wellbutrin, as well as talk a bit about zoloft. It might come as a surprise to my viewers that I have been diagnosed with depression, but I feel that this is an important topic, as people with depression should take medication because it has changed my life and could potentially change theres. I forgot to mention that Wellbutrin is slightly more expensive than Paxil. With our insurance, paxil (10 mg) was only about 15 cents for a month supply, and Wellbutrin (150 mg) is about .50 for a month supply. I don’t know how much this varies depending on your insurance, but I know that Paxil is known for being cheap. Also, with Wellbutrin you CANNOT drink alcohol. I drank one (yes, one) beer when I started taking wellbutrin and it made me throw up all night. Horrible. so, if you drink you might want to consider that when choosing an anti-depressent. Paxil did the same thing to me, but not as immediate as WellButrin. DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. DO NOT SELF-PERSCRIBE ANYTHING TO YOURSELF, AND CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT WHICH DEPRESSION MEDICATION COULD POTENTIALLY WORK BEST FOR YOU. THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE, AND YOURS COULD VARY COMPLETELY.

@QuackerSnap I understand, I caught that. I’m not very good at weight estimations.

So…pro tip. 190 for someone who is 5’7″ isn’t all that big…could be, if they’re naturally petite, but for a a lot of people, I doubt it would constitute being “very big”.

@chimpthepimp Holy shit you’re right. Everyone listen to this guy, he knows what he’s talking about. I feel like this video lost some validity. But you get what I mean, it is hard to get out of your system.

“Paxil take long to get out of your system”??
Wrong, it has the shortest (one of the shortest) half-lives making it impossible to quit cold turkey.. meaning it leaves ur system so quick ur body (mind) craves more.

wellbutrin made me have so much energy for the first few months, it made me quit drinking coffee cold turkey. now i’m on wellbutrin(for depression) and zoloft(for anxiety), plus 6 cups of coffee but they pretty much cancel each other out. I feel like a guinea pig when i’m in the doctor’s office, i feel like these drugs just screw up the brain even more.

@oxforddictonary You really need to consider if you have a lot of anxiety in your life before you try Wellbutrin. Paxil helps with people that have depression and also helps with social anxiety. Wellbutrin on the other hand, though it does a number on depression, does NOT help with anxiety. In fact, it makes it WORSE for many people. So, if you’re a person that has anxiety, make sure you consider this.

Thanks for the vid. I’ve been on Paxil for 9 years now, I think ? I think it keeps me balanced and fairly functional. BUT, I definitely still over-sleep and definitely still feel like I have to push through Depression/Anxiety daily–that’s in part due to my own environmental circumstances. I’m not happy at home and can’t get out yet. I’ve always been curious about Wellbutrin because I need that extra boost. If left to my own devices, I prolly would sleep my days away…it’s tough

@Hatchetman6971 I used Wellbutrin to switch FROM paxil, and it only took a couple weeks to do so by cutting down the paxil smaller and smaller and go from taking half a wellbutrin to a whole one. The problem with Wellbutrin, however, is the anxiety that’s linked with it. I think the laziness linked with paxil is why it ruins people’s sex drive.

Paxil has ruined my wife’s libido and my erections. Did you find this out for you too. I know it doesn’t affect about 5% of women so that means 95% of woman have some sort of libido probs. My wife lost all of hers. I hear wellbutrin increase’s libido in both sex’s. But the wife just can’t break free from that wicked paxil. It’s withdrawal side effects is horrendous. Same as methdone only really bad in your mind. I hate this paxil. Instead of making it better, life sucks without closeness.

@JonathanRiusKickAss cont. Paxil however is extremely hard to get off of because it’s much more potent of a drug. I hope that you someday find what works best for you.

@JonathanRiusKickAss I can’t promiss anything because like most people with depression, it sometimes takes a few tries to find the medication that works best for you. Wellbutrin sometimes makes anxiety worse as your body and mind adjusts to the medication itself, so it’s not recommended that people with a huge amount of anxiety take it. Talk to your doctor about it. On a side note, Paxil helped A LOT with my anxiety (my original problem..), but I didn’t like that it made me tired.

@JonathanRiusKickAss I can’t promiss anything. The medication doesn’t control you, it just helps you go a step in the right direction– that is, if this medication works for you. Personally, it helps me as a mood stabilizer because it makes you feel more content throughout the day. However, i sometimes do have phases where it makes anxiety worse.

Will wellbutrin help with negative repetitive thoughts and crying spells? I have had these since the end of high school. Will it increase my anxiety?
